Do you teach yoga, lead breathwork, run sound baths, facilitate movement labs, or host talks about health, mindfulness and the science of feeling better? STRETCH is looking for teachers and workshop facilitators who want a home for their programs in the heart of Vancouver’s Chinatown.
What we are looking for
STRETCH has been a community yoga studio since 2014. The programs that do best here share four things with us. We call them our values, and we use them to decide what goes on the calendar.
- Personal self-improvement. Programs that help people build a skill, a habit or a practice they can carry into the rest of their lives. Progress over performance.
- Health. Movement, strength, mobility, breath and rest. Work that leaves bodies better off than it found them, for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
- Wellness. Nervous system regulation, sleep, stress, attention, connection and community. The whole person, not just the body on the mat.
- Science. We like claims we can stand behind. If there is research behind your method, tell us about it. If your approach is traditional or experiential, that is welcome too, as long as it is honest about what it is.
Ideas that fit well: yoga and Pilates classes and series, workshops and immersions, breathwork, sound baths, meditation courses, mobility and strength clinics, partner and acro practices, talks and panels on sleep, pain, ageing, mental health or longevity, teacher trainings and continuing education, and small retreats in the city.
What STRETCH brings

- Two bright studio rooms at 180 E. Pender St, steps from Stadium-Chinatown and Main Street SkyTrain stations. Flex is 1300 square feet of open floor with a sound system, chairs and tables. Stretch is our dedicated yoga room with mats, blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets. See the rentals page for photos and a virtual walk-through.
- An existing community. Hundreds of members and drop-in students who already practise here and are curious about what is new. Your event goes on our schedule, our newsletter and our Instagram.
- Registration and payment handled. We list your event in Momence, our booking system, so students sign up and pay online. You get a roster, we handle the front desk, and you focus on teaching.
- Flexible arrangements. Revenue share for workshops and events, a flat room rate for private and semi-private sessions, or a spot on the regular weekly schedule for ongoing classes. We will work out what makes sense for your program.
- A studio that says yes to new ideas. Recent programs have included AcroYoga, comedy yoga, sound baths, freediving-inspired breathwork, hand balancing, Rocket yoga and Flow Pilates. If it helps people feel better and you can teach it well, we want to hear about it.
How it works
- Propose. Fill in the short proposal form. Tell us what you teach, who it is for, how long it runs, what you would charge and how it connects to self-improvement, health, wellness or science. Links to your website, Instagram or past events help.
- Talk. Boyd reads every proposal and replies within a week. If it looks like a fit we set up a call or a visit to the studio to pick dates, pricing and format.
- Launch. We build the listing, open registration and promote it to our community. You show up and teach.
